The third day of the workshop we went a bit further and realized a simple but complete mapping practice in just 3 hours. The process involved generating a scenography to map into it, then setting up the projector, after we made a picture from that same point (as the projector), this image was corrected to avoid perspective transformation. To finalize students traced the “point of view of the projector” picture in Illustrator and generated some simple contents with Illustrator, Photoshop and After Effects.
The contents were generated in about 1h so the practice was more about the whole process of mapping a new surface rather then creating contents. Each student created his own layout so the practice involved also to herpes under tongue “warp” the student created frame into the given space.
